Responsibilities This is Sr. Java developer working in our Billing Middleware and Service Bus team doing ehancements, upgrades, R&D working with cutting edge technology. The incumbent designs advanced systems by researching and evaluating complex business systems to develop detailed understanding of user needs. Designs, implements, analyzes, and modifies systems for various applications. Works with users to define system requirements and creates resolution. Regularly leads small to medium size projects and provides guidance to staff members. Works as a team member on large, highly complex technical/programming projects under minimal direction of senior staff and management. Regularly leads small to medium size projects, performs project management activities such as planning, sizing, configuration and scheduling activities. Develops solutions and makes decisions that impact projects and staff members. Performs analysis, writes program specifications and develops designs for medium to large size projects OR performs analysis, resolves problems and monitors to proactively prevent problems from occurring. Evaluates options for meeting user needs, and ensures that system requirements are identified, prioritized and incorporated in an effective, efficient manner. Qualifications 5+years experience Java and EJB enterprise level application design, development and implementation Strong Java and EJB enterprise level application design, development and implementation Responsible for entire Middleware Application Architecture design and implementation Responsible for any new technology R&D and prototype development efforts Evaluate options to ensure that system requirements are identified, prioritized and incorporated effectively and efficiently when meeting with users, CAM and other IT development organizations such as ACSS, MyAccount, CIS, IVR, MyBusiness, POS. Manage and solve production problems – Trouble ticket management and resolution Provided 24x7 on-call support Mentor new DVS team members helping them to gain VISION, DVS application knowledge Manage version source control for DVS team Manage and coordinate VZW enterprise releases Provided the team with the source code management environment and mentor new team members in the areas of DVS quality process DVS VDM process, code and design walkthrough process, deployment guidelines, and standard coding practice.
